Onmaries — Brand Identity Design

Onmaries is a bespoke tailoring brand based in Abuja, Nigeria, focused on handcrafted, made-to-measure garments. The goal of this project was to create a strong brand identity with a logo that could function both as a distinctive monogram and a refined wordmark, while clearly communicating craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Challenge

The tailoring space is saturated with generic visuals and overly decorative logos. Onmaries needed an identity that felt:

  • Premium but understated

  • Timeless and memorable

  • Closely connected to the tailoring process itself

The logo also needed to scale well across labels, packaging, and brand materials.

Concept & Logo Idea

The logo concept was inspired by tailoring tools and precision. A safety pin—a familiar and essential element in garment construction—was chosen as the core symbol.

The safety pin was cleverly integrated into the letter “O” in Onmaries, creating a unique monogram that represents:

  • Craftsmanship

  • Attention to detail

  • The idea of holding elements together with care

This approach allowed the logo to feel meaningful rather than decorative.

Visual Identity Direction

The identity system was built around elegance and restraint:

  • Color palette: Deep blues and refined greys to convey professionalism and sophistication

  • Typography: Clean, timeless typefaces that support the bespoke nature of the brand

  • Style: Minimal, confident, and detail-driven

The logo works effectively as both a standalone mark and alongside the wordmark.

Outcome

The final brand identity positioned Onmaries as a modern, craftsmanship-focused tailoring brand. The safety-pin monogram became a recognizable visual signature, helping the brand stand out while staying true to its bespoke roots.
